This morning, I drove to Wiesbaden with Dad and Light Star. It’s incredible what they’ve set up at the Wiesbaden Congress Center for the Sports Ball. Preparations have been underway for two weeks; it’s going to be a huge event – all about equestrian sports. They’ve even installed a proper little riding arena in the main hall.
The program starts tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m. – with a carriage driver, a Western rider, Isabell Werth for dressage, and Ingrid Klimke for eventing. Marcus Ehning and I are there for show jumping – our performance is scheduled for just before 10:00 p.m. Because the arena is really small for jumping, we can get a running start from the aisles – it’s very well thought out and brilliantly set up. We were able to rehearse twice today, and Light Star – see the video on Facebook – is taking it all very calmly 🙂 The aim is to give guests an insight into the various disciplines of equestrian sports tomorrow evening. And ClipMyHorse will also be there tomorrow, broadcasting live.
More than 2,000 people are expected, including the patron of the German Sports Foundation, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Hesse’s Minister-President Volker Bouffier, Federal Minister of Defense Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, and Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn.
So, I think this will be a real mega-event, and I’m very excited!
