Breeding conditions of the EU stallion station Tebbel
The current terms and conditions of license apply.
D-KBP-165-EEC
All breeders who utilize the services of the Tebbel Stallion Station acknowledge the following conditions, as well as the breeding and insemination conditions of the respective associations. If a stallion is unavailable for specific reasons (competition, illness, etc.), another stallion from our station may be used at the customer’s request. There is no entitlement to a refund or partial refund of the stud fee.
The breeding season begins on February 1st, 2025 and officially ends on July 31st, 2025. Breeding certificates must be submitted to the stallion owner (NOT the veterinarian) at the beginning of the breeding season!
- The breeder is responsible for the shipping costs of the seed; if necessary, the shipping costs should be inquired about in advance at the breeding station.
- For every shipment of semen abroad, a fee of €25 will be charged for the official veterinary certificate.
- Please inquire at the breeding station about the specific conditions for the use of frozen semen.
- The supply and shipping of frozen semen is at the breeder’s risk; any transport damage must be reported immediately, not after insemination of the mare. Evaluation of frozen semen is only recognized by veterinary specialists in reproductive medicine.
- Liability for transport damage or non-delivery is excluded.
- We request that any complaints be submitted in writing (by email or fax) to the breeding station immediately on the morning of the following day.
- After insemination, the semen usage certificates, signed by the veterinarian or the insemination officer, must be returned by mail, fax or email.
- A breeding certificate cannot be issued without proof of insemination by qualified personnel.
- Swab samples, taken exclusively during estrus, are desired.
- Excluded are 2- and 3-year-old maidens and foal mares.
- The following conditions apply to the first insemination of stallions stationed with us. A deposit of €300 is due before or immediately after the first insemination.
- This condition applies to every stallion. The prices of the respective stud fees can be found on the individual pages of this catalog.
- For first insemination AFTER the first of July 2025, the €300 deposit paid in the event of non-pregnancy will be credited towards the following breeding season 2026.
- For mares that did not become pregnant, a certificate ( mandatory for accounting reasons ) must be submitted. If this required certificate is not sent by the end of the season (no later than September 31, 2025), the full stud fee is payable by the end of October. The deadline for submitting proof of pregnancy can be changed after consultation with the stud farm.
- The stud certificate will only be issued after 100% payment of the stud fee invoice and settlement of other costs such as shipping costs.
- Should the breeder use the semen in an unauthorized manner (eg, inseminating unregistered mares, failing to report successful embryo transfer, using frozen semen for the ICSI procedure, etc.), this will be punished with an unconditional fine of €2,500, in addition to any outstanding amounts.
- For mares that have been absorbed or miscarried over the winter, half of the stud fee paid in the previous year will be credited.
- The credit is tied to the breeder, the mare, and the stallion used. Changes are only possible by prior arrangement.
- All stud fee discounts, quantity discounts, credits from previous years and stud vouchers cannot be combined.
- If invoices are not paid on time, any agreed discounts will be forfeited. The full cover fees will then be payable.
- In embryo transfer, the stud fee is due for each embryo that is found to be pregnant in the recipient mare at the end of the breeding season.
- If insemination is continued after successful embryo transfer, this will result in a further billing of the stud fee if successful.
- A quantity discount is possible upon agreement for multiple successful flushes.
- TG semen can only be sent if a usage agreement for the TG semen, signed by the breeder, has been returned to the stallion owner by fax or email.
- Due to the applicable performance test regulations (LPO) for stallions, the stallion owner expressly points out that the use of our young stallions for breeding before they have completed their performance test is at the breeder’s own risk. The stallion station will endeavor to obtain the necessary performance documentation but cannot guarantee it.
By ordering semen, the customer acknowledges the breeding and business terms and conditions of the Tebbel Stallion Station. The place of performance and jurisdiction for all current and future claims arising from this business relationship is the stallion owner’s place of business.
