We had two fantastic and successful days at our OL/OS & Westfalen foal show. Over 120 foals and many interested breeders came to Emsbüren in glorious weather to admire the mares and their offspring in the beautifully decorated, flower-lined arena.
A particular highlight was the first foal crop of Cornet’s Carpaccio. Long-legged, typey foals with excellent basic gaits were presented to the spectators and breeders. For the first time at the foal show, a cash prize was awarded to the breeders of the foals that placed first, second, and third. Bernhard Brinker from Geeste was especially pleased with this prize, as his Cornet’s Carpaccio x Stakkato pairing produced the winning foal in the stallion ring. In the ring for show jumping-bred foals, the offspring of Dia Corrado once again proved very strong. The Dia Corrado x Quidam’s Rubin colt, owned by Georg Kok from Bunde, took first place.
Furthermore, the first foal crop of Life Time was celebrated. The winning foal, bred by Antonius Richter, particularly stood out. His colt by Life Time x Desperados impressed with its remarkable lightness of foot and movement, receiving much applause from the audience. In the ring of show jumping-oriented Westphalian foals, the Cornet’s Carpaccio x Los Angeles colt, bred by Wolfgang Schütte from Spelle, emerged victorious.
Overall, there were many very good foals to see, and breeders who proudly presented their foals with great passion and expertise.
