January started off with two highlights for us: Justine’s inclusion in the U25 squad and the World Cup tournament in Leipzig. It was already an amazing feeling that not only Maurice, but also Justine was able to ride in the Grand Prix there. But when they both then went clear in the Leipzig Championship – that was incredible! It’s not every day you see that: both children competing together at a five-star tournament, both in the same class, and both clear – sensational! Then came the mega-event, the Sports Ball in Wiesbaden. The entire event was top-notch from start to finish, and there were loads of celebrities there – Justine and Light Star right in the thick of it.
The sport test in Münster, where all three of our stallions performed exceptionally well: For the Future, Don Tryon, and Sandro Junior. And then our stallion presentation – a real showstopper! We presented 23 stallions under saddle, including five dressage stallions. We’ve never had such a strong group, both in terms of quality and quantity.
The Global Champions Tour in Doha: Don Diarado was in top form. Over the two weekends, he completed seven courses and was flawlessly clear five times. Excellent!
In March came the major lockdown – difficult months for all of us. Semen shipments continued, and our breeders didn’t let Corona slow them down.
At the end of May, the show season slowly restarted for us in Riesenbeck: with six horses by our own stallions. And then there was the return of Chacco’s Son. Our two children were in the saddle – perhaps no one enjoyed the restart after the Corona break as much as we did. Our foal shows followed, naturally with Corona precautions, featuring the first crop of For the Future. What fantastic foals!
In August, Christopher Kläsener moved into his own stable block and is a wonderful addition to our team, as is our apprentice Leon Lersch-Kessel – welcome to the team. In Wietmarschen, Chacco’s Light v. Chacco’s Son I qualified for the Bundeschampionat with a score of 9.0 (!) – that doesn’t happen every day. In August, we experienced some amazing moments in Peelbergen: Maurice and Justine traveled with eight horses, rode in 20 classes, and had some fantastic rounds. Friederike Tebbel, ‘Fritzi’, secured the reserve championship title at the Hanoverian Riding Horse Championship with the three-year-old Bond Street, simultaneously qualifying for the Bundeschampionat.
A fantastic week at the CSIO Prague: Justine and Maurice took eight horses to the Czech capital to represent Germany in the Nations Cup – their first time competing together as a team!
Licensing season: Rom will be taking up residence with us in the upcoming breeding season! This dressage stallion by Revolution x Donnerschwee x Lancer II absolutely thrills me. This year’s Hanoverian premium stallion has everything that makes an exceptional dressage stallion. Two premium stallions in Oldenburg – we are absolutely delighted! Our premium stallions are sons of Dia Corrado and Quabri de L’Isle. The Dia Corrado son x Stakkato Gold x Sao Paulo is incredibly handsome and superbly elastic. The second premium stallion by Quabri de L’Isle x Carembar de Muze x Calvaro is also very beautiful in type and possesses tremendous scope. Our dressage stallion by De Niro Gold x Sir Donnerhall I x Tananarivo xx also presented himself superbly and received a positive licensing verdict. At the Westphalian pony licensing, Maurice presented his handsome chestnut stallion by FS Mr. Right x Pilgrim’s Red. He presented himself superbly and was approved for breeding.
At the German Championships in Riesenbeck: Don Diarado and Maurice were in top form, and together they secured the silver medal on St. Nicholas Day – very impressive! Justine participated in the U25 Jumping Cup Final with the only eight-year-old Cote de Pablo, and competed for the first time with Light Star in the Ladies’ Championship, performing very bravely.

Despite all the difficulties, we can say that 2020 was still a good year.
And we want to express our sincere gratitude to our breeders – the loyalty and enthusiasm with which they support us and our stallions makes us proud and is a wonderful affirmation.

We all hope that 2021 will be more ‘normal’ again and wish you all a relaxing Christmas and a good and, above all, healthy start to the new year.
