What a fantastic week it was at CSIO Prague! Justine and Maurice took a total of eight horses to the Czech capital to represent Germany in the Nations Cup – their first time competing together on the same team! For Justine, at 21, it was her first time competing at the senior level, and she did a truly amazing job. Both children rode exceptionally well in both rounds – in the end, the German team, which also included Andre Thieme and Patrick Stühlmeyer, just lacked that final bit of luck, narrowly missing the podium with a fourth-place finish. As parents, we are incredibly proud to see both children riding together on the same Nations Cup team.
Our youngsters, Like about you (by Los Angeles), Chacco’s Light, and Congstar (both by Chacco’s Son I), also showed their best sides. They all went clear in all three youngster classes and secured some excellent placings. Congstar, in particular, impressed with a second and a third place.
We were equally delighted with Chacco’s Son I, who is already back in fantastic form after his injury break and finished fourth in a fast fault-and-time jumping competition on Sunday.
The highlight, however, was Don Diarado & Light Star, who both jumped clear in the Grand Prix and qualified for the jump-off. Don Diarado jumped superbly there as well and finished second. Light Star and Justine unfortunately had a slight fault at the penultimate oxer, but were still pleased with another 3* Grand Prix placing.
It was a wonderful few days in Prague, which we enjoyed with the whole family in fantastic weather and superb conditions. Many thanks to the organizers for the superbly organized tournament – we’d love to come back again!
